Jack Kennedy - Back brace & shades

Saw this photo in a book in Barnes And Noble on 11 January 2011, Tuesday. Couldn’t afford to buy the book so I took a photo cos I liked it.

The newer footage they have doesn’t show anyone on the grass, as if they were gonna stand there in plain site after shooting. There were trees and a wall they coulda been behind. And I never thought until now, but they say Oswald couldn’t have shot the gun and reloaded it so fast, but what if there had been two people in the Book Depository? Maybe Oswald got caught and the other guy snuck out or something. But I don’t recall ever hearing a theory that suggested more than one shooter in the same place with Oswald.

I don’t have much free time to post today, but I just wanted to make sure I made a post for Jack’s birthday! Ninety-five years ago today, America’s thirty-fifth president was born. He was not perfect by any means, but he was human. He served the country in many ways in his lifetime. His life was brought to a tragic halt, so we will never truly know what more he would have done as president. We can all argue over what we think he would have done, but we can never know for sure. He still lives on in the hearts and inspires many Americans today though, conservative and liberal, democrat and republican, and everything in between. For serving for such little time, he made a dramatic impact on the world.

President Kennedy licked the remaining traces of ice cream from his fingers, wiped his hand with the napkin and tossed it into the trash bin. The times were rare when he could get away long enough to enjoy a chocolate-vanilla twist ice cream cone in the park. God blessed him with a beautiful day. The weather was warm, there was a gentle breeze and the sky was as blue as could be with perfectly shaped fluffy clouds. He took the long way back to the car, cutting through the corner of the park. Little children ran and played, dogs frolicked and caught various things thrown their way, mothers sat on benches chatting with other mothers.

The president stood in place and tilted his head back just slightly, closing his eyes and taking in a deep breath of fresh air. He kept his eyes closed as he exhaled, letting his ears pick up as many sounds as they could. Everything was so peaceful. No one had any worries. There was no rushing around to do things. It was a magical moment and he knew the importance of ever second.

With his eyes still closed, he tuned into the sounds of young children having fun. It reminded him of his own childhood and the bond he shared with his brothers and sisters. He saw himself as a kid, chasing his siblings around the yard, pushing each other on the swing, playing games all children seem to enjoy at some point or other. He smiled widely as a feeling of strong content and comfort embraced his whole body.

All to quickly, he was jolted back to the present. The rip from nostalgia came from one of his secret servicemen. It was time to go if he didn’t wish to be late for his scheduled meeting. The president opened his eyes and the smile faded from his face as he nodded to the man in acknowledgement. He made his way to the car with a determined pace. Before getting in, he looked back at the park . He smiled at its youth and innocence and secretly thanked it for being just the friend he needed at just the right time.

It happened while on my way home from a nice walk in New York City. The weather was beautiful and I was feeling bored, so I decided on a stroll. Little did I know, it would turn out to be much better than I could have ever expected.

As I passed by a ritzy 5-star hotel, a man came walking out of the building and bumped into me. My inside voice told me to yell at him for his carelessness, but I opted to keep that to myself. I looked up just as he started offering his deepest apologies. Then I saw who he was. John F. Kennedy! At least he was the one who bumped into me, and not the other way around, or this would have been a lot more awkward at the time.
