Okay, so yes, I DID do something for Roger B. Taney’s birthday (other than all this homework that is). On my breaks, I worked on this. My whatever version of this painting.
Obviously this isn’t terribly serious since I didn’t put HOURS and HOURS of time into it, but it’s not just a scribble either. Though, I made enough random shadings that it looks like I put makeup on him, which I kind of like, actually. But the man had skin tones okay. We all do. And five o’ clock shadow, and so on. Blah blah, the more I babble the more I’m making all my faults obvious, lol.
So, essentially I drew a picture for a dead man (also for myself though), who most people don’t know of and usually if they do, they hate him. I find him quite interesting, actually. Doesn’t mean I support all of what he did (I do agree with a lot of things he did outside of the Dred Scott Decision. I mean, he was a hardcore Jacksonian, come on!).
But yeah, this is kind of my birthday present to him. I don’t think I’ve ever actually drawn something FOR a dead person on their birthday before, so this may be a first.
So, Happy 236th Birthday, Rog!
Looks like a vampire!

Much of my inspiration comes from those zany old time political drawings. So, I started out thinking “Well, I’m just going to draw them doing a bunch of random, out of this world stuff that doesn’t make sense!” And it was going good at first (Van Buren and Polk) but then I got the bottom guys and all Hell broke loose.
You see, I wanted to draw a bunch of the Democratic candidates for the 1844 election. What started out as totally random stuff turned into talk about pensies, I guess. I don’t know why my brain always does this. I’d like to blame someone, but I assume I have no one to blame but myself.
Had to take a shot at Buchanan. Just had to.
I have no idea why Cass is wearing nothing but a towel. This wasn’t supposed to make sense.
So, Martin Van Buren, James K. Polk, James Buchanan, Lewis Cass, John Tyler, Richard Mentor Johnson, and John C. Calhoun (birthday boy!).
Calhoun is constantly judging you all. Especially me for drawing this.

I still need to color it, but here’s the comic version of the Taco Bell fiasco from my AU story.
“Cum South of my border” hahaha!

I doodled a simple gif of Aleck Stephens to tide me over until the release of Lincoln. Then I will make gifs of movie Aleck.
But until then, look at this little guy. He was unimpressed with life, but then he sees you and becomes happy, aw. (meaning it starts at the frowny face)
Aw, this is cute!

So, here’s a half-assed (I just don’t do that well drawing on Tegaki, not my thing, yet I enjoy using it every now and then? Sense, I make none) cover for my Antebellum High-School AU “The Raging Little Star” which center around around Aleck Stephens SO I MADE HIS FACE THE COVER, OK

This is just shitty line-art, I’ll color it eventually and it might look a little better and more full of life. Needed a break from my school stuff.
SO LIEK, CASS WAS ALL “Well Polk weighs more than Jackson, so if he can ride, so can I!” YES CASS COS YOU AND POLK WERE TOTALLY TWINS IN WEIGHT
SO CASS HOPPED ON AND IT DIDN’T END TOO WELL
TANEY WALKED IN AND WAS SHOCKED LIKE “wOAH!”
Inspired by Sebastian’s Polk piggybacking Jackson, obviously. :3
I thought the smooshed dude was wearing a gnome hat at first, lol!

I drew this back in 2010. It’s supposed to be Andrew Jackson, a young James K. Polk, and Rachel Jackson.
THESE WERE MY LIFE CHOICES!
Holy shit I’ve gotten way better at drawing, what is this. That does raise my current art self-esteem. But I don’t think my mental state has gotten any better.

I whipped this up for Sebastian since’s he’s feeling down. I don’t draw Pierce a lot, so I don’t have his likeness down in my style like the others, so forgive me! D: I’ll work on it!
Aw, how sweet.

I drew this when I was like, 14. That was about 8 years ago. It’s still on my wall, as you can see.

After a conversation we had, Sebastian wanted me to draw James K. Polk with a mustache so I did and yeah.
What pisses me off is that he actually looks hot with one I was not prepared for this fact.
He looks Goth. Nice!
